We have ideas
(and ideals).

At Flying Workshop, we originate and shape ideas that become onscreen content for television, games and the web. Sometimes those ideas grow to include real-world publishing, licensing and events. Because we’re a small team, we link with talented industry mentors and screen professionals to bring our ideas to life.

Such wide collaboration is vital in the first stages of writing for television. Amongst our official helpers, we can call upon the expertise of screenwriters, educators, researchers, licensing executives, designers, animators, script editors, artists, publishers, web developers and musicians. Their input allows us to build each project holistically from the start. It’s perfect for multiplatform media, and invites audience involvement through the supporting publishing, live events, web media and licensed products we develop.

Beyond encouraging audience interaction, we want viewers to enjoy the spark of an engaged imagination. That’s why the heart of a Flying Workshop idea is always its arresting story and characters. We’re a bit old-fashioned that way.

Our background in education, children’s books and licensed publishing means we’re initially focussed on quality drama and animation for young people. Projects now under development include adult drama, real-life and documentary strands.

In our work we’re professional, positive and ethical. Our collaborations aim to be friendly and enduring. We make fresh choices, because viewers don’t recognise themselves in stereotypes. Ultimately, we want to make programmes that are true to life and true to ourselves: full of hope, humour and vitality.
